Psychiatric emergency departments (EDs) serve as a critical point of entry for individuals experiencing mental health crises. However not all that come to psychiatric EDs receive equitable care. This webinar will delve into the importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in psychiatric EDs and review research articles that highlight these inequities. We will discuss the unique challenges faced by marginalized populations, explore effective strategies for improving cultural competence, and examine data-driven approaches and to reducing disparities in care.
